Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK)

 The programme will comprehensively address the health needs( mental health, nutrition, substance misuse, gender based violence and non-communicable diseases) of the 243 million adolescents, who account for over 21% of the country’s population.
 The programme introduces community based interventions through peer educators, and is underpinned by collaborations with other Ministries and State governments, knowledge partners and more research. 
The RKSK recognizes that all adolescents need attention even before the occurrence of any disease or problem, and in order to make informed decisions and choices.
The RKSK programme defines an adolescent as a person within 10-19 years of age, in urban and rural areas, includes both girls and boys, married and unmarried, poor and affluent, whether they are in school or out of school. 
The programme emphasis seven ‘Cs”- coverage, content, communication, counselling, clinics and convergence.

इस कार्यक्रम के जरि‍ए देश की आबादी में 21 प्रति‍शत से अधि‍क योगदान देने वाले 24.3 करोड़ कि‍शोरों की समस्‍याओं पर व्‍यापक रूप से ध्‍यान दि‍या जाएगा।
 इस कार्यक्रम को समुदाय सहभागि‍ता आधारि‍त रूप दि‍या गया है, जि‍समें वि‍भि‍न्‍न क्षेत्र के वि‍शेषज्ञों, मंत्रालयों, राज्‍य सरकारों, ज्ञान सहभागि‍यों के अति‍रि‍क्‍त शोधकर्ताओं को भी शामि‍ल कि‍या गया है। 
 आरकेएसके कार्यक्रम में देश के 10 से 19 वर्ष के बच्‍चों को कि‍शोर माना गया है, चाहे वे शहरों अथवा गावों में रहते हैं। इसमें लड़के एवं लड़कि‍यां, वि‍वाहि‍त एवं अवि‍वाहि‍त, गरीब एवं अमीर तबके के बच्‍चे शामि‍ल हैं।
